saki newsletter 10/21/14!

We got so much good stuff in this past week, including new arrivals, new releases, and some much needed restocks! The next few weeks should be no different, so keep an eye on the blog, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram some amazing stuff to listen to now that it's the time of year we'll all be spending a lot more time inside with our record tables!

To help you wade through all the good stuff a few of our employees have taken it upon themselves to add some personal descriptions and/or haiku's to some of their favorite records in the shop. Come dig around and see what you can find/learn about us! What we've learned so far is that our employees are a bunch of weirdos...

Here are a few highlights from the past week!

We got Brian Costello's (Outer Minds, Shame That Tune!)
new book Losing In Gainesville in stock!
Tons of awesome new arrivals and restocks!
Busy Beaver dropped off their new line of Button-O-Matic!
We also have a bunch of tickets and guest list spots to give away, including Dum Dum Girls at Metro this Friday, and Ben Frost at Constellation on Halloween. Make sure you check out the list towards the bottom the newsletter!

Once again, our monthly comedy show Freak Happening is one week early this month (it's normally the last Friday), but this month things have gotten a little weird! We just found out our beloved Freak Happening hosts, Nick and Goodrich have rented out the store for a rave in lieu of a comedy show. We know we should be pissed, but we're actually kind of excited to drop some E and zone out to these DJs. Come find out what the hell is going on this Friday!

Spotify listening station:

These days record stores don't get a ton of promos from bands and labels like the good ol' days, but we know that you still want a chance to listen to a lot of things before you make the decision to buy. To help you out with that we've created a Spotify Listening Station in the store. Sounds fancy, right? It's not. We just bought a burner phone that has WiFi and we created a Spotify account for the store.

If you find yourself flipping through the racks and you realize that you'd like to listen to something before you buy it, just ask at the counter and we'll pull out some headphones and Burnice (that's what we named our burner phone) so you can have a listen!
