saki newsletter 10/28/14!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Freak Happening Rave on Friday! Turns out it was not a rave at all, but just another Freak Happening show. Who knew!? Regardless, we all got to hear that Eiffel 65 song like a million times, and there was glowsticks and candy. Not a bad night!

We had a nice busy weekend after that, so thanks to all you folks who came out and spent your dough with us. We'll put it to good use, ie. buy more records. If there are any particular records you'd like to see us spend that money on, you just let us know, ok!

Don't forget to read the rest of this newsletter for info on events, new releases, our weekly 20% off picks, and to find out which upcoming shows we have guest list spots for. We want you to have those spots! Everyone deserves a free show once in a while. We recommend Ben Frost and Cleared at Constellation on Halloween!

Here's some other stuff that went down this week, according to our Instagram feed (@sakistore)...

Ryan Duggan dropped off some prints for us to sell! We'll
change them out every other month or so (or as they sell
out). Look out for more artists coming soon too!
We got some new records in (plus some restocks) and
guess what, they're ALL good. Nothin' but the best for
YOU GUYS
We acquired this Walter Payton promotional single from
KFC in the 80's! It sounds.... pretty much like it looks.

We had a huge used vinyl buy with mostly surf, garage
and rockabilly gems!
A few of the pieces from our used buy were on the pricey
side. We've got them on display behind the counter for a
few bucks cheaper than they are on Discogs. They might
be expensive, but they're a great deal if you buy
 them in the store!
We heard the new Outrageous Cherry record and we
got very excited. It's so good!

Spotify listening station:

These days record stores don't get a ton of promos from bands and labels like the good ol' days, but we know that you still want a chance to listen to a lot of things before you make the decision to buy. To help you out with that we've created a Spotify Listening Station in the store. Sounds fancy, right? It's not. We just bought a burner phone that has WiFi and we created a Spotify account for the store.

If you find yourself flipping through the racks and you realize that you'd like to listen to something before you buy it, just ask at the counter and we'll pull out some headphones and Burnice (that's what we named our burner phone) so you can have a listen!
