that's a shame...
Just heard that Ari Up from The Slits died, and she was only 48. Cancer. Everyone always bangs on about "Typical Girls", but they were so much more than that song. "Cut" was the first punk album to fully incorporate a heavy reggae influence, thanks to producer Dennis Bovell. It even featured future Banshees/Creatures drummer, Budgie. Over 30 years old and STILL sounds great. And it doesn't even feature one of the best covers ever, their version of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". Too soon...

"Cut" is a fantastic record. A classic punk/post-punk album, that will sound GREAT forever. Every collection should have a copy. RIP.
