On Friday, Slate ran a piece that was purportedly a rebuttal from Mick Jagger to bandmate Keith Richards' new memoir. Typically, there was much confusion about whether it was really written by Jagger—it wasn't—or by ex-Stone Bill Wyman—again no. It is, though, an inspired piece of writing. Ex-Chicago Reader rock critic Bill Wyman told the story as historically accurately as he could manage. If you are a Stones fan, a rock fan, or just a fan of great rock writing, do yourself a favor and hang out with it.
Today, Bill wrote an addendum to his piece that's almost as good as the piece itself. It's only written as Bill, but it'll do. Hats off, Mr. Wyman.
