A Winter Solstice Shadow Puppet Show

Since we were not being graced with another mildly debauched, but lovely panto this year, this will just have to do. :-)

The Hideout Presents: a Winter Solstice Shadow Puppet Show
Shadow Puppets and Music for Kids and Adults
This Sunday, December 19 ONLY. 3pm sharp.
Adults $8
Kids Free or donation if you can manage it

Kathleen Judge and friends (including Sally Timms) will be performing the lovely shadow puppet plays  "Jabberwocky" and "Revontulet," this Sunday 19th December at The Hideout at 3pm. This is a kiddy friendly show and will include music from Tiny Cover Band.  Show lasts about an hour. Please spread the word, post wherever you can...buy advance tix at The Hideout website.

A merry band of Chicago puppeteers, musicians, and artists will present an evening of wondrous entertainment at The Hideout on Sunday, Dec 19 at 3 pm.

The centerpiece, a bewitching retelling of Lewis Carroll's glorious nonsense poem "Jabberwocky." Shadow puppets glide across the screen in dreamscape exaggeration and playfulness, telling the tale of the Bandersnatches and Whatnots. This is a reprisal of the mesmerizing show that was staged at Three Brothers Auto garage on June 10th, 2010. Those who were there this summer will never forget narrator Sally Timms' intoxicating narrative style, the magical sound collage, or the unique shadow puppets. Another wintry, theatrical piece will also be performed, so come be amazed.

The evening will also include two sets by The Tiny Cover Band, playing their trademark covers of rock classics using toy instruments. (ed.-The musicians, however, are full size, as are the songs.)
