Throughout each talk, a musician handpicked by the speaker will reinterpret songs from their featured album. Think of it as the 33 1/3 book series meets show and tell!
The show is on Saturday, May 26 at 7pm, and is totally free to attend (just like everything else at saki!)
Brandon Wetherbee, host of You, Me, Them, Everybody and Huffington Post editor, will talk about Nirvana’s In Utero, and Annie Reese from Rock Falls will play songs from In Utero.
James Fritz, named by the Chicago Reader as 2011’s best standup, will talk about The Afghan Whigs’ Black Love and Gabe Liebowitz from Dastardly will play songs from Black Love.
Leor Galil, contributing writer for the Chicago Reader, will talk about Fugazi’s The Argument and Mike Riga from Indian Wife will play songs from The Argument.
We'll have a special selection of records inspired by these talks for sale (maybe at a discount? you'll have to show up to find out!), and the whole thing will be recorded to be podcasted by You, Me, Them, Everybody at a later date. Come be part of history!
