saki newsletter 9/4/12!

Once again, here is our weekly newsletter in all its glory. You don't even have to sign up for our mailing list... but you should. We offer other special deals for mailing list subscribers!

Oh man, do we love Creative Control... it's by far our favorite of all the events we've hosted at saki. Joe McAdam is such a great host & producer. If you didn't make it this month, it's on the last Friday of every month. Thanks to all the comics & to Rock Falls for performing! We also hosted the 1st ever US performance for a Canadian band called Marble Lion on Saturday. They were so great, so humble, so nice, so... Canadian. We had a little issue with the Xiu Xiu in-store that was supposed to happen today. No one is really sure what happened. The label had confirmed that the band would be playing at 12:30, but somewhere along the line, that message didn't get to the band. They were already packed up and on their way to Canada early this morning. If you came out for the show and left after waiting too long, you can come back in and give us your e-mail. Polyvinyl said they'll send us some swag to make up for the mishap! Fortunately, we've still got one more awesome show going on today, it's just not at saki... Join us at The Burlington tonight at 9pm for a "saki presents" show with Magic Milk, The Shivas (Portland) & The Sueves! All three bands are awesome. We can't wait for the show! We'll also have copies of the Ryan Duggan-designed show poster for sale - only $5!
