Come by saki and pick up the hot-off-the-press TRANSIT map. In honor of Chicago Artists Month & their theme "Art Block by Block," our friends at TRANSIT printed 1,000 copies of their map. There are 37 local visual artists and studios, and 17 local businesses represented on the map, giving a clearer look at just how much arts activity is going on in Logan Square/Avondale. You can download a JPG of the map here.
TRANSIT, a not for profit residency, serves artists from multiple disciplines within written, visual, music and performance arts, who seek opportunities to create in an urban environment and/or specifically culturally rich Chicago. They both an "INBOUND" program (allowing visiting artists an opportunity in Chicago) and an "OUTBOUND" program (allowing Chicago artists to experience working elsewhere temporarily, with an opportunity to showcase their work in Chicago upon return). Cool stuff, right?
Find TRANSIT Maps at the following locations: saki, El Cid, G-Mart, Galerie F, Hairitics Dye For Your Beliefs, The Hairpin Arts Center, I Am Logan Square, Logan Square Arts & Business Center, The Logan Theatre, Lula Cafe, New Wave Coffee, Multilingual Chicago, Paladar Cubar Restaurant & Rum Bar, Penguin Foot Pottery, Wolfbait & B-Girls.
