saki newsletter 3/19/13!

Hello friends, welcome to the saki newsletter! We've got a lot of exciting news for you, so keep your hats on! This Saturday we have an in-store with locals, Passerines and Clearance followed by a "saki presents" show at The Burlington later that night with Zelienople, Radere and petal! petal is just one of the many names for Scott Cortez, one of Chicago's best drone and ambient musicians. Radere is the stage name of Carl Ritger, a well-known sound artist currently hailing from Colorado. He's coming to Chicago just to play this amazing bill with Zelienople and petal! Also, look out for Zelienople's incredible Epitonic saki Session, which is going up tomorrow! It's seriously one of the best yet, and it adds to a string of awesome sessions that have been posted recently, as well as being the perfect primer on Zelienople's captivating live show!

On Sunday we've got a new kind of saki event, called saki University. It's a skill share workshop with the folks from The Recyclery and Gaslight Coffee! Come out and learn a little bit about bike maintenance and craft coffee brewing and tasting. Chicago Reader seems to think it's going to be purdy cooool, and we do too! Please come out and let us know if you'd like to see more saki U events in the future! We've already got some new ideas - ahem - brewing :)

Next week and beyond, we've got another Punch Up at Lincoln Hall, Creative Control, a live RPM podcast, our art opening for April, a very special Jerry Maguire-themed event with Everything Is Terrible, and April's Off The Record party with Implodes 'Recurring Dream'!
