This week we've got Chandeliers/Deep Sleep split casette, Hailu Mergia (Awesome Tapes From Africa), Mavis Staples and Advance Base for 20% off!

Chandeliers/Deep Sleep - Notes + Bolts/saki Sessions Vol. 1 cassette

LIMITED EDITION CASSETTE OF 100 QTY! 1st installment in a new tape series co-presented by saki and Chicago's prolific Notes and Bolts label! Vol. 1 features amazing live sets from Chandeliers (members of Icy Demonsand Killer Whales) and Deep Sleep recorded live at saki as part of our Epitonic saki Sessions in-store series.

Hailu Mergia -  ...and His Classical Instrument: Shemonmuanaye CD and LP

Adding a Moog synthesizer, Rhodes electric piano and rhythm machine to the harmonic layering of his accordion, he creates hauntingly psychedelic instrumentals. These songs draw from various traditional and modern Ethiopian songs, as Hailu matches Amhara, Tigrinya and Oromo melodies to otherwordly flavors soaked in jazz and blues. Essential summer listening!

Mavis Staples - One True Vine CD and LP

A new one from the legend, Mavis Staples. WILCO's Jeff Tweedy takes on production duties again! "Staples is reaffirming her place as one of the great voices of the last half-century." - Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune

Advance Base - World Is In A Bad Fix Everywhere 7"

A tribute to the early 20th century Texas street preacher, singer, WASHINGTON PHILLIPS. Advance Base has arranged a selection of Phillips' compositions for autoharp, piano, drum machine and vocals. The beatiful melodies and heartbreaking lyrics make the songs a natural match for Ashworth's raw, inventive production and doleful singing. Ltd to 500
