saki newsletter 4/1/14!

Hey guys, it's FREE RECORD DAY! We forgot to put price stickers on all the records, so I guess that means they're FREE, right!? Also, APRIL FOOOOOLS! We had you going there, right?? You guys are too easy.

In all seriousness, we had a great weekend with Freak Happening and an in-store by Shearwater. We hope you made it out for at least one of those things! This weekend we're celebrating the opening of Landland's show 'chicago hi we're landland' on Friday night, with some snacks, and some drinks, and a live set from Nick Butcher (Sonnenzimmer, Hometapes). Come check out Dan and Jes' amazing work and mingle with us!

In this week's vlogcastisode, both Adam and Mary get over their crushing awkwardness and learn how to act natural on camera... April Fools! We do have music from Cloud Nothings, Arthur Russell and Pure X in this episode though, so that's cool!

Upcoming events:

April 4th @ 6pm 'chicago hi we're landland' opening reception!

Friday, April 11th, 8pm at Comfort Station
Once In A Lifetime: Fifteen and Pregnant! Presented by saki, Everything Is Terrible, and Comfort Station!

Friday, May 2nd @ 6pm
John Atwood Photography opening reception!

New releases:

Each week saki will be offering a handful of new releases for 20% OFF! You can check the blog, Facebook, Twitter, or our newsletter, to find out which titles will be discounted. We'll choose 2-3 titles each week and they'll be discounted for their entire first week of release!

This week we're offering Pure X, Cloud Nothings, and the reissue of Arthur Russell's World of Echo for 20% off!

Pure X - Angel LP

Their third full length finds the Austin band signature hazy, lo-fi pop sound veering into soft rock and FM pop territory.

Cloud Nothings - Here and Nowhere Else LP

Refined, impossibly melodic, white-knuckle noise-rock that shimmers w/ sumptuous detail.

Arthur Russell - World of Echo LP

Remastered and revised artwork edition on 2LP, ltd to 1,000. 18 tracks, including drumless versions of his disco classics "Let's Go Swimming," "Tree House," and "Was the Van," along w/ 4 previously unreleased tracks from "Sketches From World of Echo."
