What's new this week you ask? Well, Mike Conway's show is down. If you missed it then you're just plain stupid. No two ways about it, you f$#&ed up, bro. Lucky for you we have another great show going up this weekend. Adam Hanson's show, Haute and Bauthered will not disappoint! Adam is a designer, illustrator, and printmaker who has created posters and merchandise for a number of bands, including The Hold Steady, The Get Up Kids, and The Crystal Method. The opening reception is on the 10th!
But wait, even before that opening we have another event and it's one of our favorite recurring events in the store. Our pal Brandon Wetherbee (from Brightest Young Things and You Me Them Everybody fame) is doing another installment of Important Records on October 8th! Brandon and Rock Falls will talk about and play songs from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' Dig, Lazarus, Dig. Joshua Dumas and Seth Vanek will do same, but with The Flaming Lips The Soft Bulletin, and maybe a few more guests. We shall see! The whole show will be recorded for a special episode of the YMTE podcast.

These days record stores don't get a ton of promos from bands and labels like the good ol' days, but we know that you still want a chance to listen to a lot of things before you make the decision to buy. To help you out with that we've created a Spotify Listening Station in the store. Sounds fancy, right? It's not. We just bought a burner phone that has WiFi and we created a Spotify account for the store.
If you find yourself flipping through the racks and you realize that you'd like to listen to something before you buy it, just ask at the counter and we'll pull out some headphones and Burnice (that's what we named our burner phone) so you can have a listen!
We have a new deal with The Empty Bottle! Much like our Schubas/LH promotion, you can now get guest list spots for most upcoming EB shows when you purchase a record from any band on the bill at saki. Of course, some exceptions apply, so feel free to ask us about any show you're interested in.
