saki newsletter 7/24/15!

Hey, sweaty people! We think we've finally dried out from Pitchfork. You know what they say, if the constant sweating doesn't get you, the torrential downpours will! We had a blast though. We caught all the usual suspects and as usual we found a new respect for a few bands that we thought were just 'meh' before. Pitchfork Fest is always good for that! We'd like to thank everyone who paid us a visit in the CHIRP Record Fair tent as well as our helpers from Easy Street Records in Seattle, Dasha and Atticus.

We also owe a big thanks to Dave Davison, Rebecca Ryskalczyk, Kø, and The Burlington for a wonderful show last night. Everyone was awesome and we had a great time! You should all go visit the new project from The Burlington's owners in the old Brown Sack location at Central Park and Belden. It's called Wyler Road and it's now officially our go-to lunch option at saki. Check it out!

No big plans in the store for this week. We're just gonna relax in the AC and listen to the new Nap Eyes, Van Halen reissues, and new arrivals from Mississippi Records. We love this job!

One more thing! There's a new CHIRP Factory Session with Circuit Des Yeux that you should see/hear. Haley has a new band and there are some very familiar faces in there. As always, Mike Lust, Big Foot Media and the folks at CHIRP have done a great job putting this thing together. We have not been disappointed yet. Keep it up, folks!

Here are some things we were talking about on Instagram, etc. this week!

We're still giving away these Carpark Records USB sticks (designed by Toro Y Moi's Chaz Bundick). They contain the first 100 releases from Carpark! No purchase necessary, just stop in and fill out an entry form with your name and contact info.

We had fun at P4K Fest, we swear.

See! Fun! Dasha and Atticus came from Easy Street Records in Seattle to help us out at Pitchfork. They were very excited to be working next to Graveface Records. They thought The Bean was just OK.

Bitchin' Bajas are in there somewhere... we're not great at taking pictures.

That's Viet Cong! One of the best sets of the fest even though they were competing with Mourn on the Blue Stage. Mourn was VERY good!

We had a blast at The Burlington last night. Thank you all for coming! Kø is quickly becoming one of our favorite local acts, and Rebecca and Dave both killed it with solo sets.
