Lots to talk about this Friday so let's just get right to it! This Tuesday is the very first VINYL TUESDAY. Vinyl Tuesdays are events where special/limited releases (sort of like Record Store Day) will be released on Tuesdays instead of Fridays. All of these releases will be on vinyl, hence 'Vinyl Tuesday.' This first Vinyl Tuesday certainly packs a punch. We've got a vinyl box set from The Replacements featuring all of their Twin/Tone releases that have not been released on vinyl for a looooong time. We will also have all of the Red House Painters individual LP reissues that were previously only available in a very limited box set, and a collection of unreleased Pavement tracks. Oh, and as if a Replacements box set wasn't cool enough on its own, we've also got some Replacements slip mats to give away with purchase on Tuesday. We're calling them 'Mats mats because DUH. So, yeah, Vinyl Tuesday is pretty alright!

Let's stay on this giveaway tip for a sec, guys. We've also got ONE very special slip mat to give away with the next purchase of Mac Demarco's Another One. The slipmat itself is cool and all, but the REAL deal here is the poster that comes with it. It's autographed by Vernor Winfield McBriare Smith IV himself, whom you may know as MAC DEMARCO! Pretty cool, right!? All you have to do to claim it is stop in and buy Another One on vinyl.

Hang on a sec, we've got MORE GIVEAWAYS!? This is almost TOO much. We've got a pair of 3-day general admission passes for Riot Fest to give away! Much like our Pitchfork ticket giveaway all you have to do is stop in and leave your name and contact info. No purchase necessary! We'll draw the winner next week so don't hesitate on this one.

Now to talk about someone other than ourselves... our friends at Bucket 'O' Blood are hosting a fundraiser show tonight at The Auxiliary Art Center and it's a hell of a show! They've got Rabble Rabble, The Cell Phones, Yeesh, and Melkbelly, which is just, I mean, Holy Hell that's a good lineup. In addition to having potential 'show of the year' status it is also a fundraiser to help Bucket 'O' Blood relocate to a larger storefront. We are all about these folks having a larger space to be awesome in, so let's make it happen! There will be a $7 suggest donation at the door (but if you don't donate you're a turd) and FREE beer from Powell Brew House (if you don't tip your bartenders you're a turd). The Aux is a great spot for DIY shows and everyone involved in this one is a gem in our book, so let's go out and support them!

 

Oh, and one last thing - we'd like to thank Spirit of the Beehive, Carbonleak, Brendan Faloona and The Predictions for playing in the shop last week. It would have been a very boring week without you guys and everyone who came out, so THANK YOU!

 Mary made us a crazy pinwheel mobile out of Jamie XX posters (she provided her own disco ball). We know we still don't have a very noticeable sign out front, but hey, now we've got rainbow pinwheels!
