Off The Record: a listening party with Brokeback 1/28!

We're happy to announce the first installment of Off The Record a new monthly music series presented by saki and the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE).

To kick off the series, Chicago's Brokeback will be performing tracks from their new album Brokeback and the Black Rock (out 1/22 on Thrill Jockey) followed by a reception featuring hors d’oeuvres from Provenance Food and Wine and beverages from Goose Island. After the performance there will be DJ sets from the fine folks at Thrill Jockey!

Brokeback and the Black Rock is the band’s first release in ten years and is the side project of Doug McCombs (Tortoise, Eleventh Dream Day). Brokeback members include Pete Croke (Tight Phantomz), Chris Hansen (Pinebender), and James Elkington (Horse’s Ha). Brokeback and the Black Rock was recorded and engineered by Chicago staple (and Tortoise drummer) John McEntire.
