Twin Peaks - Sunken LP
Catchy hooks, chorused guitars, chugging rhythms, and pure rock and roll from Chicago, IL. This is one of the bands currently coming out of Chicago. Highly recommended!
Rudimentary Peni - Cacophony CD and LP
Clocking in with 30 tracks at 43 minutes, "Cacophony" is a concept album from Rudimentary Peni, originally released in 1989, now REMASTERED and REISSUED after being unavailable for 15 years. The album is hailed as a classic benchmark of outsider punk.
Speedy Ortiz - Major Arcana CD and LP
Debut record from Western Massachusetts' band that manages a bit of magic by conjuring the spirits of classic American indie rock, while twisting those ghosts into new shapes. It's easy to hear Helium, Jawbox and Chavez, as well as nods to contemporaties like Pile, Roomrunner, Swearin', Waxahatchee and Aye Nako.
