saki newsletter 9/24/13!

Thanks to everyone who came out to Schubas on Saturday, including all the other vendors, Revolution Brewing and all the Schubas folks! The Pig Swig and Dig is one of our favorite events of the year. We hope you all had a good time, found some nice records, and got some pig in your belly!

We also had a fitting welcome to the fall season on Sunday with Eiren Caffall's LP release show. Eiren's music is perfect for this time of year and we finally got to have Panoramic and True in the shop! You can pick up Eiren's new record for 20% off this week as part of the weekly new release sale, and we also brought in a few copies of Panoramic and True's latest 7" featuring a dub remix from Peabody and Sherman on the b-side! Pick both of those up as soon as you can.

This Friday we've got a jam-packed day with an Epitonic saki Session with Darto and Radiant Republic at 4pm, and then the return of Freak Happening, Nick Rouley and Goodrich Gevaart's new comedy show that's picking up our last Friday of the month slot now that Creative Control is over. Last month's premiere was a masterwork of potty humor and we've been assured that this month's show will be equally filthy and hilarious. We can't wait!

On Saturday we've got an in-store with two awesome local acts, Savage Sister and TALSounds! Savage Sister are carrying the shoegaze flag like nobody's business right now. If you haven't heard of them yet, well, now you have! Don't miss it.

On Sunday we've got a great in-store/Epitonic saki Session with Week of Wonders and Hollow Boys! Week of Wonders features former members of one of our favorite bands, Orca Team. Their sound is not that far off from Orca Team's bouncy, reverb-drenched surf pop. We promise it won't disappoint. Hollow Boys play 'gloom pop' that is influenced by the 80's Manchester sound. It's sad music, but you can bob your head and tap your toes!

In the next few weeks we've got an art opening for our comic art group show, 'Comics Hangout,' with a live set from Joe and Otis, and our very first improv show, 'Dirty Cool Kids With Mommy Prison Tattoos.' In the meantime you all need to come buy more records. It's getting colder out there and you're going to need them when you're stuck inside all winter!
