saki newsletter 4/15/14 ( + Record Store Day 4/19)!!

Cue the Jaws theme music because IT is coming... RECORD STORE DAY is this Saturday! We'll be opening the shop at 9am, but you crazies can start lining up as early as you want. For the most up to date info on what's going on in the store on Saturday, and which RSD releases we will have on hand (at least when the doors open, you know they'll go fast) you can visit the RSD page on the blog! We will be adding updates there probably until closing time on Friday night, so keep checking back!

There's plenty to be excited about for Record Store Day, but as always we are most excited about our awesome in-store marathon lineup presented by our friends at BV Chicago! Here's what we've got for you this year:

1pm - Wedding Dress
2pm - Minor Characters
3pm - Landmarks
4pm - Meat Wave
5pm - Negative Scanner
6pm - Their They're There

We will also have DJs from BV Chicago, saki/CTD, and The Owl spinning between the band's sets!

In addition to all of that, we will also have a raffle and freebie table with goodies provided by Drug Factory Press, Busy Beaver Button Co, Merge Records, Saddle Creek, Provenance Food and Wine, The Whistler, Light In The Attic and more!

24 year-old singer/songwriter and guitarist from Chicago. Inspired by Tim Hardin, Tim Buckley and Bert Jansch - this is a poised and accomplished debut album, recorded in Chicago by Cooper Crain of CAVE!

Woods - With Light and With Love CD and LP

Features guests Tim Presley (WHITE FENCE) on slide guitar and Jonathan Rado (FOXYGEN) on organ. This time the tinkering reveals an expanded sonic palette that includes singing saw, heavier emphasis on percussion, and a saloon piano that sounds like it was rescued from a flooded basement. Showcases a more sophisticated brand of contemporary drug music that owes more to Magical Mystery Tour than motorik.

Thee Oh Sees - Drop LP

New full-length comes after a brief hiatus and move to Southern California. Guest appearances from MIKAL CRONIN, GREER MCGETTRICK, CASAFIS.
