Sick Fisher reception

The Work of Sick Fisher

February 6th – March 1st
Opening reception: Friday, February 13th 6-9pm. Free.
Live music by LAMP. Magic by Tricky Ol’ Puss. Food by Flying Saucer

Joseph Nicholas Fisher (b.1985) is an artist currently living and working in Chicago. Raised and schooled in Florida, Fisher moved to Chicago in 2009 to continue his work as a painter. Fisher works mostly with acrylic paint on a variety of surfaces including canvas, paper, wood, plastic, metal, brick, and glass. Scale varies anywhere from 12x12in to 12ftx12ft and larger.

Fisher’s work has been featured in the “Eyes and Teeth” and “Hexagons” art shows in Chicago, among countless others. Shows are only a small part of Fisher’s career, however. His presence is most strongly felt in the recognizable murals all over Chicago, especially in the iconic storefronts of local businesses such as the Flying Saucer and Polak Eatery restaurants and all Treasure Island Venues.

The opening will feature live music by Chicago band LAMP that combines electronics with oversized guitar sounds and frenetic vocal work. Musical magician Tricky Ol’ Puss will also perform his unique brand of spoken word slight-of-hand.

Please join us Friday, February 13th from 6-9pm for the opening of the work of Sick Fisher. Enjoy a night of art and live music with food provided by Flying Saucer.

This event is free and BYOB!
