Justin Santora opening

UPWARD: Recent Screenprints by Justin Santora
March 6th – April 3rd

Opening reception Friday, March 6th, 6-9pm. Free.
Live music by A.M. Stations

“Upward” is a collection of various posters and art prints from the past two years. Chicago illustrator Justin Santora has been making screen printed art and rock posters since 2008. He has done work for The Lumineers, The Black Keys, James Blake, Phish, Iron & Wine, AMC, Warner Brothers, and many more.

Santora grew up in the greater Chicagoland area and graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a degree in studio art and secondary education. Unenthused with the prospect of a career as a high school art teacher and motivated by some of Chicago’s many well- known rock poster artists, Santora began working as a freelance illustrator and screen printer. Justin has been producing handmade posters, screen printed art, paintings and illustrations professionally since 2008. Much of Santora’s work is focused around images of quiet rural or suburban settings, construction, decay, architecture, and large open spaces. His approach is also informed by an interest in anarcho- syndicalism, egalitarianism, and animal rights, as well as a lifelong passion for skateboarding and punk rock. Santora has exhibited work in various cities in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

The event will feature a live performance by Chicago band A.M. Stations.

Please join us Friday, March 6th from 6-9pm for the opening of UPWARD by Justin Santora. Enjoy a nightof fine art and live music, with food and beverages provided by saki. This event is free and BYOB!
