saki newsletter 4/21!

WOWZA! RSD has finally come and gone. We're still exhausted. We're still taking calls and emails from customers looking for the pieces they never found on Saturday. Does it ever end? Who knows! Let's just say we're enjoying the relative calm of the past two days, and we're desperately trying to get back into the swing of things. It's going... well, it's going.

We still have plenty of leftover titles. We posted an updated list on the blog yesterday. We'll TRY to keep updating that as titles sell out, but please understand that it won't be perfect. Until next Sunday the NO HOLDS rule still applies, but at this point we're no longer limiting anyone to one per item. You can buy whatever you want, you just have to come in and buy it, or order it off our mail order site. Now on to the thanks!

We owe a huge thank you to everyone who came out and bought anything (even a $1 used record), all the bands (Cheap Girls, Advance Base, Oshwa, Sleeping Bag, Supreme Nothing, and The Sueves), Dark Matter for the delicious coffee in the morning, Dante's for pizza throughout the day (and a nice discount for anyone with a saki receipt), The Burlington for keeping our thirst quenched both day and night, Rob Karlic and Mac Blackout for their amazing art show/photo booth (the show is up for the rest of the month and most items are for sale), Zach and Milos of BV Chicago, Todd from Hozac, Ryan Duggan, Derek Smith, Merge Records, Pitchfork, Easton Gruber, all our distributors and labels, OUR ENTIRE STAFF, and seriously, again, all of you for coming out! We appreciate all of you like you can't even imagine.

Ok, just two more things to tell you about! First, we have an in-store this weekend. Cavepainters are celebrating their record release with us at 4pm on Saturday. It'll be just like RSD, but with (probably) less people and (definitely) less bands. It'll be fun!

We'd also like to share a little something from our friends at Brightest Young Things. Saki's own Matt Byrne is helping with the launch of the Chicago brand of BYT, a DC/NYC based arts and culture website. Thing is, in order to start getting things going, they need a base level of mailing list subscribers to receive their weekly event roundup, picking out the most exciting/interesting things happening in the city during the following week. They don't sell email addresses to advertisers or spammers and unsubscribing is easy if you ever decide you don't want to hear from BYT anymore. If you're interested, click here to sign up, thanks a lot!

Here's a few other things we were talking about on Instagram, etc. this week!

We're trying to update this as they disappear but feel free to call ahead just in case!

We should have taken more pictures on RSD, but you know, we were busy.
Here's one of Sleeping Bag!

JUST IN: new saki t-shirts designed by the one and only Ryan f***ing Duggan. They have Ryan's beloved 'Heavy Cat' design on the back and a classic saki logo on the front breast. Like all of our saki-branded merchandise, you get 5% (excluding RSD releases and artwork) off your purchase when you wear it in the store!
