saki newsletter 5/5/15!

Tomorrow night our buddy, Brandon Wetherbee (of You Me Them Everybody fame), is hosting 8x8: 8 Performers, 8 Minutes Each at saki! 8x8 is a show that Brandon used to put up at Hungry Brain and we're excited to be taking that over (even if only temporarily). If it isn't obvious from the name, 8x8 features 8 different performers - usually comedians or musicians - who are given 8 minutes each to do pretty much whatever they want. It's a fun show and we even have some familiar names like Goodrich Gevaart (from our very own Freak Happening) and Stephanie Hasz (whom you may know as Goodrich's fictional estranged ex-wife shouting from the audience during Freak Happening)! Come join us for a good time at 7pm tomorrow night.

On Thursday our friends at the Dr. Martens store are hosting an in-store with one of our new favorite bands, YEESH! We've been pushing their album in the store for a while now, so maybe that name sounds familiar. Now we have an even better reason to tell you to buy it: Dr. Martens is offering 15% off (footwear only) on May 7th if you bring in a receipt from saki showing that you purchased Yeesh's No Problem! It's a double-deal! Get an awesome record and a sweet discount on some killer boots at the same time. Just make sure you get your ITEMIZED receipt from us at check out. You'll need it to redeem your discount!

On Saturday we have an in-store with recent Joyful Noise signees, Ko! They're bringing their pals (and saki veterans), Clearance to open for them. Clearance have been one of the more consistently great live bands in the city for a while now and Ko are quickly making that name for themselves as well. We can pretty much guarantee this is going to be a great Saturday afternoon. Come say hi!

We still have some guest list spots for Vetiver and The Fruit Bats' Eric D. Johnson at Old Town School this Friday, May 8th! Just purchase a Vetiver or Fruit Bats album from us and we'll add you to the list. Our spots are limited, so get in here fast to claim them!
