pics from the Willis Earl Beal 7" release show!

BV Chicago just posted some photos of Pillars & Tongues and Willis Earl Beal at Cole's this past Tuesday for Willis' debut 7" release show. We were there selling the 7" and some other saki goods. We didn't make the photos, but hey, we're not that pretty anyway, so you're not missing much!

Here's a few of our favorite shots, but check out BVC for the full set. Wicker Park blog, The Minimal Beat has a few as well.

New Darling 7" on Cardboard Sangria!

Just received a few copies of Darling's new 7" Keep Out from Cardboard Sangria Records!

From the Cardboard Sangria site:

The Keep Out 7″ attempts to characterize the inner dilemma and turmoil of which life invariably consists. White is Night is a song of self-reflection in the brightest night of winter. It simplifies all the things that bring you down into the dirt beneath your shoes and the awareness of all that’s really important. Mako Sica explores the thought that life can turn on a dime. Lush green grass can abruptly change to barren earth and the brightest blue sky can turn ashen gray. Its the idea of remaining vigilant and the inability to stay inside.

Limited to 300 on red vinyl with download code!

Catch the record release show at The Burlington with The Father Costume and Architecture on 10/1!

Bitter Tears New Album, Video and Show!

Ooooeeee...Carrot Top Records is under my control for the next ten days! Let's celebrate by releasing an amazing record. Tomorrow, Tuesday March 3rd, The Bitter Tears release Jam Tarts In The Jakehouse. To celebrate the release, The Bitter Tears will be hosting a Record Release Show at The Hideout this Saturday March 7th.
"Chicago's The Bitter Tears are a truly extraordinary group of musicians that one must experience in the live concert setting to truly appreciate the in-your-face absurdity and pure drama that their rambling catchy dada cabaret has to offer. Their often humorous and overwrought lyrics run the gamut of satire, lust, and the grotesque"—A Thousand Ears
